Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU) and Kyushu University Japan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at a ceremony held on 20 December 2017 at the Conference Room of the University. On behalf of BSMRAU Professor Tofayel Ahmed, Treasurer, and Prof. Dr. Kazuo Ogata, Vice-President Kyushu University Japan signed the MoU in presence of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Giashuddin Miah, Deans, Directors, Provosts, Registrar and other relevant teachers of the university. The MoU was signed on exchange of cooperation, technical assistance and student-teacher/expert exchange in the field of education and research.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU) observed today its 19th birthday with festive mood. In this occasion an elaborated programs have been chalk out to observed the day. The programs were: Hoisting National flag & University flag, Ananda rally, placing floral wreath at mural of Bangabandhu, discussion & cultural program etc.
Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. Dr. Md. Giashuddin Miah hoisted the national flag. Treasurer of the University Prof. Tofayel Ahmed hoisted the University flag. A floral wreath also offered at the University’s Bangabandhu’s Mural with due respect on this occasion. Faculty Deans, Registrar, Directors and faculty members were present at that time. A colorful procession came out at the University campus to mark the day with participating students, teachers and employees of the University. The students, teachers and employees of the University kept the campus vibrant busting into joys and cheers. A discussion program on University day was held at the university Begum Sufia Kamal auditorium. A. K. M. Mozammel Huq MP, Minister, Ministry of Liberation War Affairs was present as chief guest and delivered his speech. Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Mannan Akanda, Dept. of Plant Pathology & Ex.-Vice-Chancellor of this University was present as a main speaker. Vice-Chancellor of this University Prof. Dr. Md. Giashuddin Miah presided over the discussion program while Treasurer of this University Prof. Tofayel Ahamed present as a special guest. The discussion program also addressed among others Prof. Dr. A. R. M. Solaiman Dept. of Soil Science and Prof. Dr. Md. Ruhul Amin Director (Students Welfare).
After Zohr prayer a special doa also offered at the central Mosque. The program concluded following a cultural evening at the University auditorium.

With the initiative and support of University Grants Commission (UGC) and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU)-IQAC (Institutional Quality Assurance Cell), the Self-Assessment Committee (SAC) of Fisheries program in BSMRAU organized a day-long Team Building Workshop on “Self-Assessment and Quality Assurance of Faculty of Fisheries” at the Conference Room of the Faculty Building on 01 November 2017. The main focus and objective of the workshop was to build awareness and team-work spirit among the faculties and non-academic staff and on different issues related to self-assessment and quality assurance. The workshop was graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. Md. Giashuddin Mia, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, BSMRAU as the Chief Guest. Among others, Prof. Tofayel Ahamed, Treasurer, Deans of all Faculties, Prof. Dr. Md. Abiar Rahman, Additional Director (BSMRAU-IQAC), BSMRAU-QAC members were present in the workshop. Prof. Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam, Dean, Faculty of Fisheries presided over the workshop.
The Dean, Faculty of Fisheries and the Team Leader (SAC-FF) welcomed all guests, faculties and officers and presented the purpose and intended outcome of the workshop. The Vice-Chancellor mentioned the importance of self-assessment in assuring the quality in fisheries education in the university. He advised all faculties to sincere and committed to academic and research as well for quality enhancement of Faculty of Fisheries.
