Md. Golam Rasul was born on 11th November 1990 in the village of Fullchowkey, Mithapukur upazila in the district of Rangpur, Bangladesh. He passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination in 2005 securing CGPA 5.00 (out of 5.00) from the Shukurer Hat High School, Mithapukur, Rangpur and the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination held in 2007 also securing CGPA 4.60 (out of 5.00) from the Rangpur Government College, Rangpur. He did his Bachelor of Science in Fisheries (Hon’s) and Master of Science in Fisheries Technology and Quality Control degree from Sylhet Agricultural University, Bangladesh in 2012 and 2014 with distinction CGPA 3.939 and 3.945 (out of 4) respectively. He successfully completed his Ph.D. degree in fish processing from Iwate University, Japan in 2022.
Md. Golam Rasul started his service on 24th July 2014 as a Lecturer in the Department of Fisheries Technology in the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU), Gazipur. He worked as Assistant Professor from 24 July 2016 to 25 September 2022. Now, he is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Fisheries Technology in the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Gazipur-1706 from 26 September 2022 to till date. He has been also working as a research pool under the Institute of Food Safety and Processing at the same university since March 2023.
Dr. Rasul is a young devoted researcher in fisheries science. He has a number of publications in scientific journals. His major researches focus on biochemical and microbiological aspects of fish processing; quality, shelf life enhancement, microbiology and food safety of fish and fishery products. In 2021, he got “Best Oral Award” in the 8th international symposium on utilization of marine resources and construction of food system with high quality and low carbon organized by EAFTA & FSMILE 2021, Sanya, China. Moreover, He also received National Science and Technology Fellowship (NST) award from Ministry of Science and Technology, People’s Republic of Bangladesh in 2013. Golam Rasul is a Life Member of Bangladesh Association for the Advancement of Science (BAAS), Bangladesh Fisheries research Forum (BFRF), Krishibid Institution of Bangladesh, Democratic Teachers Association of BSMRAU, Bangabandhu Krishibid Porishod etc.
