  • Carry-out teaching, research and training on different aspects of pesticides, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), environmental impact and fate of pesticides and other pollutants including POPs, Apiary and Honey Bee management and IPM of storage pests; teach 3 courses viz., Seed Entomology, Insect Physiology at MS and Ph D Level and Economic Entomology at BS level. Also supervise MS students’ research; conduct training for farmers, extension personnel. Prepare reports; participate in different workshops, seminars, training etc., organized by PPW, University Outreach Program. Prepare research projects, reports, research papers etc.
  • PARTICIPATION IN TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT AND TRANSFER ACTIVITIES
    1. i) Zebrotes subfasciatus Commonly known as Maxican Been Weevil, Identifed by me as a new pest of Kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus) seed first time in Bangladesh with the help of IJO (Now IJSG). Tested also some plant materials against Zebrotes subfasciatus and found in storage condition.
    2. ii) Worked as a associate scientist to monitor the pest status of newly released potential jute variety BJRI TOSSA PAT-4 (Released by NSB-2002), that variety was accepted by farmers.

    iii) International project: Worked as ‘Associate Scientist’ to implement the project ” Environmental Assessment of Jute Agriculture” (Sponsored by IJO (now IJSG), Phase -1, 1998-2001). Completed the phase -1 and report submitted to IJO, Dhaka.

     

     CONFERENCE AND WORKSHOP (National and International)

    1. Attended the 18th annual conference of The Acarological Society of Japan from 28th to 30th September, 2009 in Ibaraki University, Japan.
    2. Attended 54th Annual conference in the Japanese Society of Applied Entomology and Zoology from 26th to 28th March, 2010 in Chiba University, Japan.
    3. Attended 19th Conference of the Islamic World Academy of Sciences from 5th to 9th May, 2013 at Sonargoan Pan Pacific Hotel, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
