Research Review Workshop begins at BSMRAU

 

The inaugural ceremony of a two day long Research Review Workshop of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU) was held on 31 Oct.’15 at 10-30 am. Begum Matia Chowdhury, MP, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Agriculture was present as chief guest and inaugurated the workshop. Mr. Mike Robson, FAO representative in Bangladesh was present as guest of honour.Minister said, population is increasing but cultivation land is decreasing day by day. So we need to increase our food production. Minister emphasized the need of salinity and natural calamity tolerance variety of crop. So the minister urged the university scientists to develop those varieties of crop for the southern part of our country.Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. Dr. Md. Mahbubar Rahman presided over the inaugural session. Prof. Dr. Md. Khurshed Alam Bhuiyan, Ex. Director (Research) BSMRAU was delivered the research achievements of this university and welcome address. Dr. Md. Motaher Hossain Associate Director (Research) also given vote of thanks. A total of 59 scientific papers have been presented through the seven technical sessions in this research review workshop. All faculty members, distinguished guests, PhD students, officers were present at the time.
