02. Epidemiology and molecular characterization of important intestinal zoonotic protozoan parasites in domestic pigs and their handlers in Rangamati Hill District 1. To estimate the prevalence and identify the risk factors of Cryptosporidium ssp., Giardia duodenalis, Enterocytozoon bieneusi and Blastocystis sp. in pigs and their handlers in Rangamati Hill District.

2. To evaluate the genetic diversity of species, genotype and subtype of the protozoan parasites in pigs and their handlers.

3. To assess the role of pigs in zoonotic transmission of the protozoan parasites in human.

04. Molecular Investigation of Zoonotic Diseases Risk Associated with Illegally Traded Wildlife in Bangladesh 1. To estimate the prevalence and identify the risk factors of zoonoses from trafficked wildlife in Bangladesh.

2. To determine the possible reasons of poaching, trading and trafficking of wildlife.

3. To identify the specific pathogens of the zoonoses with their molecular characteristics.

4. To explore the genetic diversity and zoonotic potential of the pathogens from trafficked wildlife.

5. To assess the role of trafficked wildlife in zoonotic transmission of the pathogens to humans through poachers, traders and traffickers.
