The research area of Professor Dr. M. A. Mannan covers the physiology related problems, environmental stress and stress mitigation specially salinity and drought on field crops. Dr. Mannan gained excellence on analysis of crop growth processes under stressful environment in his Ph. D course. His direction of research is to understand the adaptation mechanisms of crops under environmental stress conditions. The present thrust of his work is on the crop X environment interaction, especially response of C3 plants under salinity/ water / plant nutrients stress conditions.
