BSMRAU Students Distribute  Winter Clothes to Needy.

Under the slogan “Beside Everyone in Good Deeds” the Shubhashangha of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU) distributed warm clothes on January 1, 2025 the first day of the new Gregorian year. The distribution took place in the basement of the newly constructed Agricultural Faculty Building aimed at providing warm clothes to the day laborers working at the university. Professor Dr. GKM Mustafizur Rahman Vice-Chancellor of BSMRAU inaugurated the event as the chief guest. After the inauguration the Vice-Chancellor personally handed over blankets to the cold-stricken workers. The event was also attended by Professor Dr. Md. Safiul Islam Afrad Treasurer of the university, Director (Planning and Development) Professor Dr. Md. Golam Rasul, Director (Student Welfare) and President of Shubhashangha BSMRAU branch Professor Dr. Md. Saiful Alam, Director (Outreach Program) Professor Dr. Farhana Yasmin, Director (Transport) Professor Dr. Mohammad Ziauddin Kamal, Vice-President of Shubhashangha, BSMRAU branch Mahbub Hasan and a student of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science and Mehnaz Akter Mim, General Secretary of the Shubhashangha, BSMRAU branch also a student of the Department of Soil Science. Following the distribution of the warm clothes, a brief discussion was held where the Vice-Chancellor praised the noble initiative stating that standing by others in times of need is a true reflection of humanity. He highlighted that the students of BSMRAU have set a rare humanitarian example through their warmth and support for the less fortunate. He also expressed his commitment to assist in any humanitarian endeavor. Mahbub Hasan, Vice-President of Shubhashangha BSMRAU branch, mentioned that the activities of Shubhashangha extend beyond the distribution of warm clothes. He attributed that the organization is deeply involved in various humanitarian causes such as providing aid to orphanages, old age homes, financially disadvantaged but talented individuals, distributing Eid gifts, tree plantation, and self-sufficiency programs. The laborers who received the warm clothes expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor and Shubhashangha for their generosity. Notably, since its establishment in 2019, Shubhashangha BSMRAU branch has been actively participating in humanitarian activities, consistently contributing to the welfare of others
