Department of Horticulture 1st time has developed two (2) new flower Varieties

Considering the demand and need of commercial flowers in Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU) Department of Horticulture has developed two (2) flowers varieties as BU Lily-1 and BU Helicunia-1 and recently released by National Seed Board (NSB), Ministry of Agriculture.
BU Lily-1 will be used as a cut and pot flower and it bloom during spring when flower production is scanty. Another one BU Helicunia-1 which is also used as cut flower and bedding flower. The main feature of Helicunia is her long shelf life and commercially very important as cut flower. The main production season of this flower is during summer when flower flower production and supply in the flower market is very less.
