Present interest

During my working period, I have visited several fruits/vegetable growing area in Bangladesh and I observed that a huge amount of vegetables/fruits are damaged due to improper post harvest handling or proper storage or lack of processing facilities. So, I was intended to work with post harvest activities of fruits and vegetables to findout proper handling methods to minimize post harvest loss. I have developed a low cost storage technique for storing potatoes for 3-4 months without much loss. Presently, I am working as a Professor in the Department of Horticulture, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Gazipur, where I am conducting courses on “Post-harvest Physiology of Horticultural Crops”, “Physiology of Horticultural Crops”, Processing of Horticultural Crops”, “Ornamental Horticulture” in Postgraduate levels (MS/PhD). Besides, I am conducting research on different fruit and vegetable processing and their post harvest handling techniques. So, I have much interest to do research work with latest approaches on processing and post harvest handling by covering more fruits and vegetables. Moreover, I have completed my Ph.D. degree with research on the area of my present interest (processing and post harvest handling).
