Brief Introduction:
Dr. Ziban Chandra Das is the Associate Professor of Gynecology, Obstetrics & Reproductive Health, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine & Animal Science (FVMAS), Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU), Bangladesh. Dr. Ziban was born on 01January, 1981 in the village of Baria, in the district of Gazipur, Bangladesh. He passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination in 1995 securing 1st Division from the Kaligonj R. R. N. Pilot Govt High School, Gazipur; and the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination of 1997 also securing 1st Division from the Kazi Azimuddin College, Gazipur.  He obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and MS in Theriogenology degrees from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh, Bangladesh securing First Class in both the cases in order of merit. During his MS in Theriogenology, he conducted research on In vitro fertilization of bovine oocytes using zebu and crossbred bull semen as pilot study in Bangladesh. During that period, as a research assistant, he also took part in other research projects funded by United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) at Field Fertility Clinic, Department of Surgery and Obstetrics, BAU, Mymensingh. After successful completion of his MS in Theriogenology degree, in the same year, he recieved scholarship at the Department of Bioscience and Biotechnology, Konkuk University (KU), Seoul, South Korea for pursuing his doctoral research. During his doctoral study he also honored Seoul Science Fellowship for the excellent accademic records and research ideas.

Dr. Ziban received his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Bioscience and Biotechnology in February 2011. During his doctoral study, he conducted researches on mammalian cloning specifically in cattle and Pig. Mechanism of epigenetic reprogramming, cryopreservation of Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfered (SCNT) embryos, lyophilization of somatic cells and sperm and subsequent embryonic development following SCNT and ICSI were also studied and published research findings in several peer-reviewed international journals. Then he came back to Bangladesh and joined as a faculty member in December 2011 in the Department of Gynecology, Obstetrics & Reproductive Health, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine & Animal Science, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Gazipur, Bangladesh. Dr. Ziban played the vital role for development of newly established Faculty of Veterinary Medicine & Animal Science at BSMRAU. Since 2011, he is successfully conducting academic activities, supervising MS student researches and also handled a Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) funded by World Bank and several other research projects funded by University Grant Commition (UGC), Ministry of Science & Technology, Bangladesh as well as Research Management Committee (RMC) of BSMRAU.
