Life Sketch

Professor Dr. M. A. Mannan was born on 1 December, 1968 in Anantapur, Po. Babuganj, Upzila-Fulbaria under the district of Mymensingh, Bangladesh. He passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination in 1984 securing 1^st Division from the Asim High School, Mymensingh; and the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination of 1986also securing 1^st Division from the Fulbaria College, Mymensingh. He graduated from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh in 1991 which held in 1995. He obtained M.S. in Agronomy in 1996 from the same university. He completed Ph. D. in Agronomy degree in 2009 from Bangabandhu Sheikh MujiburRahmanAgricultural University, Gazipur, Bangladesh.

Dr. Mannan started his service in 1996 as a Scientific Officer in the Cotton Research Centre under Cotton Development Board of Bangladesh.  In 1997 he was appointed as a Lecturer in the Department of Agronomy in Patuakhali Science and Technology University, Patuakhali. Dr. Mannan joined as an Associate Professor in the Department of Agronomy in the Bangabandhu Sheikh MujiburRahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU), Gazipur in 2012. Dr. Mannan was appointed as a Professor in the Department of Agronomy of the BSMRAU, Gazipur in 2016. Dr. Mannan is a member of Bangladesh Society of Agronomy, Society ofSeed Science and Technology, Bangladesh Association for Advancement of Sciences, Asiatic Society of Bangladesh, Krishibid Institution of Bangladesh etc.
