Dr. Md. Emranul Ahsan was born on 25 November 1983, in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He passed the Secondary School Certificate examination in 1999 from A.K. High Scholl, Dhaka, and the Higher Secondary Certificate examination in 2001 from Dhaka College, Dhaka. He obtained a B. Sc. Fisheries (Hons.) in 2007 and an MS in Fisheries Management in 2009 from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh. He started his professional career as a lecturer at the Dept. of Marine Fisheries and Oceanography in Patuakhali Science and Technology University in the year 2011. He served the university for more than four years and later joined the Dept. of Fisheries Management at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University in 2015. Then he successfully completed a Ph.D. degree from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and PSTU, Bangladesh (sandwich program). He has presented ten scientific articles in international seminars and has taken part in many seminars, symposiums, and workshops at home and abroad. He has published twenty-seven scientific articles in various international and national journals. Currently, he has been working on fish food safety like heavy metals contamination, microbial load, and antibiotic resistance in the culture pond environment.
