Md. Abul Hossain Molla, Ph.D.
Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Hossain Molla was born on 11 December 1960 in Rajbari district, Bangladesh. He is the youngest son of Late Sabed Ali Molla and Late Nurjahan Begum. Dr. Molla was the student of Joukura Primary School and Belgachhi Alimuzzaman High School of Rajbari district. Next he got admission for higher secondary education in Rajbari College. He secured SSC and HSC in 1976 and 1978, respectively from Dhaka Board.
Next, Dr. Molla graduated [B.Sc.Ag. (Hons.)] from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh in 1982. Also he pursued M. Sc. Ag. (Crop Botany) in 1985 from same university. He achieved his Ph.D. degree in Biochemical Engineering from the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2002 with specialization on bioconversion and biodetoxification of domestic wastewater sludge for safe disposal and recycling.
He also enjoyed the post-doctoral research award from MOSTI, Malaysia for conducting research in bioremediation of domestic wastewater by filamentous fungi at UPM. Prof. Molla also secured JSPS Post-doctoral fellowship in 2005 to conduct research in 1H-NMR technique and Molecular Biology at Crop Science Lab of Kyushu University, Japan.
Prof. Molla has gained potential research background in bioconversion/bioremediation of wastes and wastewaters for its environmental safe disposal and value added recycling. He has remarkable number of publications in top ranked journals in relevant field under publishers of Elsevier Science, Springer, Kluwer Academic, Marcel Dekker, Taylor and Francis, NRC and IOS.
Moreover, Prof. Molla has been awarded Gold Medal by Research Management Centre (RMC) and R & D Exhibition by Faculty of Engineering, UPM, Malaysia in 2002 and British Invention Show in 2004, and Silver Medal by Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment (MOSTE) of Malaysia in 2002 and IENA 2004 in Nürnberg, Germany in 2004 for outstanding contribution in research of bioremediation of domestic wastewater sludge for its environmental friendly management and recycling.
